Kala Kosh

Project Synopsis

Kala Kosh is a community-driven innovation project started by New Media Designer Bhargav Padhiyar with the craft community of Gundiyali working on pottery. Kala Kosh was designed to be placed in villages of these communities where artisans can use it to archive their art in 3D holographic format.

My Role in the Project

I was responsible for designing and implementing the data and file handling module for the project. This Python-based module systematically stored and organized images in a structured folder hierarchy on a Raspberry Pi, with folders created per user based on artisan user-cards. The system ensured that each user's files were logged and managed efficiently at the local level. Additionally, the module securely transmitted images and log information to a remote server, streamlining remote administration and monitoring. The data collected by this module later enabled dynamic retrieval of images and user information for presentation on the Kala Kosh website.
